Where Guidelines, Policy, and Practice Don’t Align
At The Full Scoop, our Policy and Systems continuum addresses the structural factors that shape access to genetic testing, risk assessment, screening, and preventive care. We work to ensure that women with elevated risk can access the care they need—whether that's genetic counseling to understand hereditary cancer risk, supplemental imaging for dense breasts, or enhanced surveillance based on family history, prior cancer, lifestyle factors, occupational exposures, or race/ethnicity.
Systemic barriers—coverage gaps, misaligned guidelines, and inconsistent provider guidance—create obstacles at every step, from determining who qualifies for genetic testing to accessing supplemental screening like MRI or ultrasound that can detect cancers mammograms may miss.
