What We're Working On Now

Making an Impact

At The Full Scoop, our mission comes to life through focused, high-impact initiatives designed to close the gap in breast health access, education, and equity. Each project we take on reflects a real need we’ve heard from women, providers, and communities, and each one moves us closer to a future where breast screening is smarter, more personalized, and more equitable for all.

We invite you to explore the efforts currently underway. These aren’t just projects. They’re the next steps forward. And they’re stronger with you.

stories

Behind Every Screen

Behind every screening statistic is a woman with a story, and too often, those stories go unheard. In Denver and Madison, we’re capturing the voices of women navigating breast health barriers, fear, and resilience. With the incredibly generous in-kind support from a two-time Emmy-winning producer, Catch it in Time, we have the opportunity to turn these lived experiences into a powerful short film and year-long outreach campaign. This is more than storytelling; it’s a chance to spark empathy, raise awareness, and shift the conversation. With your support, we can bring these voices forward and ensure they’re not just heard, but acted on.

Breaking the Silence: Advancing Breast Screening Equity for African American Women in Denver

African American women face a breast cancer crisis that is too often overlooked, with higher rates of aggressive tumors, later-stage diagnoses, and a 38% higher mortality rate than white women. In Denver, we're launching a community-led landscape analysis to uncover the real barriers African American women face in accessing supplemental breast screening, a critical tool in detecting cancers that mammograms alone may miss. This initiative centers lived experience, trusted relationships, and real collaboration. It’s being driven by four powerhouse local leaders from trusted community-based organizations and a frontline healthcare provider, who are partnering with patient navigators to raise awareness, build trust, and break down systemic barriers. With deep community involvement already underway, this effort is not just about identifying gaps, it’s about creating lasting change, shaped by and for the women most impacted.

Policy in Practice: Ensuring Equitable Implementation of Breast Screening Laws

Policy change is a critical step forward, but without equity at its core, even the best intentions can leave the most vulnerable behind. With in-kind support from CHAIN, we’re launching an awareness and action campaign to spotlight the urgent need for equitable implementation of supplemental breast screening policies. While recent federal and Colorado laws, including the FDA’s MQSA Final Rule and several state-level protections, aim to improve access and transparency, these policies often fall short in practice, especially for uninsured, underinsured, and systemically underserved women. Gaps in clinical follow-through, payer alignment, and provider readiness risk leaving those most in need without real options. This initiative brings together policy experts, advocates, and affected communities to ensure that screening equity doesn’t stop at legislation but reaches every woman, in every setting.
